Featured Images will boost your reader engagement, improve your click-through rates and help you improve your ranking on search engines - they give context to users and search engines alike.
Machined has built-in functionality to add featured images to your cluster articles.
Pexels is provided out-of-the-box with Machined, there is no additional configuration. Enjoy!

DALL-E 3 is a part of the OpenAI ecosystem and uses the same API keys that are used for writing articles - therefore there is no additional configuration required.
You can optionally control the aspect ratio and size of the generated images from the global configuration.
You can manually add featured images to your articles by clicking on the image placeholder/icon within the cluster view, then either uploading an image from your computer or selecting an image using one of the third-party integrations.
You can configure machined to automatically add featured images to your articles when they are written by enabling the "Featured Image" feature at the cluster level.
Note: This only works for third-party integrations and cannot be used with local files.
If you have generated featured images for your articles but want to remove them, it's pretty easy to do so.
Navigate to your cluster
Click the featured image of the article
On the Featured Images popup, click "Clear" on the "Preview" tab
Machined handles both the caption and the alt text for featured images. Machined will automatically set both fields when using third-party integrations but are left blank when uploading your own file.
For stock photo integrations:
The alt-text will be set to the focus keyword of the article
The caption will be set to a relevant text like "Photo by John Doe from Pexels"
For AI image integrations:
The alt-text will be set to the focus keyword
The caption will be set to a default text like "Image by DALL-E 3"
You can modify the caption and alt-text from the Preview tab
When an article with a featured image is published to WordPress, the featured image is uploaded as a media file and then attached to the post as a featured image. The image is uploaded with both the caption and alt text.
When an article with a featured image is published to Webflow, the featured image is uploaded as a file directly to the CMS field. At present, we do not publish the caption or alt text.
